About The Role
Chelmsford College is seeking a professional and enthusiastic Front of House Receptionist to join our busy and vibrant Princes Salon within the Hair & Beauty department.
This is a key role at the heart of our commercial training salon, providing a high-quality reception service while supporting both clients and learners in a real working salon environment.
You will manage appointments, maximise bookings, support income generation, and ensure every client receives an excellent experience from arrival to departure. You will also play an important role in supporting learner development by helping to create an industry-standard environment that prepares students for employment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Delivering a welcoming, professional front-of-house service
- Managing salon bookings using a computerised system
- Handling payments and supporting daily financial reconciliation
- Promoting salon services, treatments, and retail products to increase income
- Supporting weekly and monthly promotional campaigns and marketing activity
- Working with the College Marketing Team on social media content for the Princes Salon
- Supporting learner development and employability skills within the reception area
- Maintaining high standards of customer care, cleanliness, and presentation
- Supporting college events, open days, and promotional activities
- Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety, and college procedures are followed at all times

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working in a hair or beauty salon environment (essential)
- Confident using salon booking/appointment systems (essential)
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
- Organised, calm under pressure, and able to multitask
- Confident handling payments and administrative tasks
- A strong communicator with a professional and friendly manner
- Able to support and motivate learners in a real salon setting
- Interested in contributing to marketing, promotions, and social media activity
A Level 3 qualification in Hair or Beauty is required for this role.
