Theatre Assistant

Job Description

Theatre Assistant | Spire St Anthony's | Sutton | Private Hospital | Operating Theatres

Permanent | Full Time | 37.5 hours per week

Spire St Anthony's Hospital is looking for a dedicated Theatre Assistant to join our operating theatre team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a professional, supportive theatre environment within a leading private healthcare provider.

Duties And Responsibilities

As a key member of the theatre team, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting Nurses and Consultants during surgical procedures Assisting Scrub Nurses within the operating theatres Providing patient support within the anaesthetic room Transporting patients to and from the ward Opening sterile packs and preparing clinical equipment Preparing, checking, and handling instruments prior to procedures Assisting with equipment ordering and stock control Maintaining theatre cleanliness and supporting infection prevention and control Contributing actively to a safe, efficient, and high‑quality theatre environment

Who We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant within theatre settings (desirable) NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or equivalent (e.g. Care Certificate) A caring, compassionate approach with excellent interpersonal skills Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
