Wellington College is a bold, creative and forward-looking community where the arts play a central role in bringing people together. Our theatres and performance spaces host an exciting calendar of productions, concerts, talks and community events, and we are now seeking a Theatre and AV Technician to help deliver these exceptional experiences.
Located in Crowthorne, Berkshire, with train and bus links providing easy access to transport connections, the College offers an inspiring environment for anyone passionate about live events, digital media and technical theatre. You will join a collaborative and highly skilled Technical Department that supports activity across our state-of-the-art G.W. Annenberg Performing Arts Centre, alongside a range of studio theatres, rehearsal rooms and multipurpose venues.
In this varied and hands-on role, you will support the technical delivery of College events by assisting with the setup, operation and maintenance of lighting, sound, video and stage-management systems. You will contribute to both live and digital productions, helping to create high-quality experiences for pupils, staff, families and guest audiences. Your calm, proactive approach will help ensure rehearsals, performances and school events run smoothly, while your attention to detail will support safe, efficient and professional technical operations. Working closely with colleagues and occasionally guiding pupils who are developing their technical skills, you will embody the College’s values and commitment to creativity and excellence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
