Exciting Opportunity for Registered Nurses and ODPs
An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) to join the Anaesthetic Team at UCH Main Theatres, one of the UK’s leading tertiary referral centres.
Job Overview
You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse and stimulating range of specialties including General Surgery, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Bariatrics and Upper GI, Colorectal, Gynaecology, Urology, Oncology, Paediatrics, ENT, Maxillofacial, Vascular, Plastics/Breast, and Robotic Surgery. This breadth of practice offers excellent exposure and development in complex peri-operative care.
Key Responsibilities
As an Anaesthetic Practitioner, you will bring sound knowledge and experience in peri-operative practice, with a strong understanding of peri-anaesthesia care. Applicants must be HCPC-registered ODPs or NMC-registered Nurses with a recognised and accredited post-graduate anaesthetic qualification.
- Motivated, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a fast-paced environment.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide a safe, efficient, and responsive anaesthesia service.
- Support patients throughout their surgical journey, delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality peri-anaesthetic care.
- Work closely with the anaesthetic and multidisciplinary theatre team to prepare, check, and manage a wide range of specialist equipment and drugs.
- Contribute to the day-to-day running of the theatre unit, supporting safe patient flow and effective coordination of care.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans, ensuring practice is evidence-based and aligned with Trust and professional standards.
- Support and supervise junior colleagues and unqualified staff in the absence of a Senior Anaesthetic Practitioner.
