Theatre Practitioner – Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow
About the Role
Circle Health Group, Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare, is delivering complex surgery across hundreds of hospitals nationwide. In Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow, we’re seeking a dedicated Theatre Practitioner to join a dynamic healthcare team in a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours/week) role with a flexible shift pattern.
This role is ideal for a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with experience in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery supporting surgical teams, managing equipment and patient safety.
Salary & Benefits
- Annual Salary: Up to £35,500 (target based on experience, qualifications, and training)

Key Responsibilities

Support Surgical Teams:
- Assist in instrument preparation, sterility maintenance, and surgical team needs
- Anticipate surgeon requirements while ensuring equipment safety
- Provide immediate post-op care, including vital signs monitoring, managing pain and nausea, and pre-discharge assessments

Coordinate Anaesthetic Support:
- Assist the Anaesthetist in preparing equipment, monitoring patients, managing airways, and positioning

Operative Theatre Setup & Safety:
- Configure theatres based on surgery type and patient needs
- Conduct pre-use equipment checks, reporting faults promptly per infection control protocols

Collaborative Care:
- Achieve efficient, safe surgical lists within a multidisciplinary team
- Maintain a respectful, positive, and efficient theatre environment

Requirements & Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Licensed healthcare professional:
- Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)
- Proven experience or training in theatre settings:
- Focused on scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery roles
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- Infection control procedures
- Manual handling safety protocols
- Patient safety fundamentals (e.g., clinical guidelines)
- Ability to:
- Work under pressure, problem-solve, and adapt quickly
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and patients
