Overview
Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics.
Part-Time, Permanent Position – 30 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern. Salary up to £37,500.00 FTE per year, depending on experience, training, and qualifications.
An opportunity exists for a Theatre Practitioner to join their team in the Theatre department.
Responsibilities
Assist the surgical team by:
- Preparing instruments and maintaining sterility.
- Anticipating surgeon needs and ensuring equipment safety.
- Supporting the Anaesthetist in managing anaesthetic equipment, patient monitoring, airway management, and positioning.
- Providing post-operative care, including:
- Monitoring vital signs.
- Managing pain and nausea.
- Ensuring patient discharge readiness.
Additionally:
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies at all times.
- Set up operating theatres based on surgery requirements and patient needs.
- Check and report faults on all surgical and anaesthetic equipment prior to use.
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and efficient surgical schedules.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and efficient theatre environment.

Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
- Experience or training in a theatre environment, specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
- Strong understanding of:
- Infection control.
- Manual handling.
- Patient safety principles.
- Ability to:
- Work under pressure.
- Problem-solve and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to safe surgical practice.
