Theatre Practitioner – Scrub (Spinal Focus)

London, The Princess Grace Hospital

Full time (37.5 hours per week) Permanent Salary: Competitive + shift allowance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Theatre Practitioner – Scrub to join our spine-focused theatre team at The Princess Grace Hospital. This role centres on supporting spinal surgery, calling for a professional with strong, hands-on experience in scrub roles during complex spinal procedures.

Here at The Princess Grace Hospital, we are one of London’s leading multidisciplinary private hospitals, offering:

  • Seven operating theatres across two floors
  • Two recovery suites
  • A dedicated robotic surgery theatre
  • A growing and diverse caseload, with spinal surgery being a crucial part of our services

Your expertise in spinal theatre practice will be vital, yet you’ll also collaborate across additional specialities—robotic, reconstructive, general, gynaecology, urology, and orthopaedic—where required.

As a key member of our theatre team, you’ll ensure safe, high-quality, and organised surgical care during spinal cases, maintaining sterile environments, anticipating surgeon needs, and supporting complex procedures where necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead scrub practitioner for spinal procedures, including routine and complex cases.
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain specialist spinal instrumentation, equipment, and sterile fields.
  • Anticipate and efficiently respond to the needs of surgeons during spinal surgery.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.
  • Uphold the highest standards of infection control, safety, and clinical practice.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
