Not every leadership role changes lives. This one does.
At PSS Care Group, we believe children who have experienced trauma, loss, instability and adversity deserve more than care, they deserve adults who are willing to understand them, advocate for them and help them build brighter futures. We don't just say we're therapeutic. Our entire organisation has evolved around a therapeutic framework that shapes the way we support young people, develop our teams and make everyday decisions.
Our homes support children and young people aged 5-18 years with social, emotional, mental health and behavioural needs* (Home dependent).
We have created environments where young people can feel safe, accepted and understood, whilst giving them the opportunities, relationships and experiences they need to thrive.
About the Role
As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in creating this environment. This isn't simply about overseeing shifts or ensuring tasks are completed. It's about leading by example, building a strong and supportive team culture and helping staff understand the needs behind behaviour. Through your leadership, you will help create consistency, stability and positive outcomes for young people who need them most.
The children we care for may have learned through previous experiences that adults cannot always be trusted. Building those relationships takes patience, empathy, resilience and consistency. As a Team Leader, you'll help guide and support your team through both the rewarding moments and the challenges, ensuring young people receive the nurturing and therapeutic care they deserve.
We don't expect perfection. We look for leaders who are reflective, approachable and committed to learning. Leaders who can inspire others, remain child-focused and create a culture where young people and staff alike feel valued, heard and supported.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
