Parkside House School – Ashington / Backworth (covering both sites) Address: Parkside House School – Northumberland NE63 8AP
💰 Salary:
£25,837 pro-rata (FTE DOE)
⏰ Hours & Contract:
- 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
- Permanent (Term Time only)
- Essential: Full valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our developing, dedicated team of clinicians supporting children and young people at Parkside House School—a cross-disciplinary role focused on supporting Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
The successful candidate will:
- Work closely with therapy teams to provide bespoke, high-quality support.
- Collaborate with the education team and families to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide evidence-based assessments and interventions under Lead Clinician supervision.
- Support communication/sensory profiles, engage in multi-agency meetings, and co-facilitate staff training.
- Participate in on-going service development and have access to:
- Internal specialist forums
- Externally funded training opportunities

Who We’re Looking For
We want a therapies assistant with:
- Experience working with young people who have special educational needs (SEN).
- A dynamic, creative approach to developing bespoke interventions.
- Strong independence and problem-solving skills whilst retaining a collaborative style.
- Essential Criteria:
- 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above), including English.
- Post-16 education evidence (e.g., qualifications, relevant experience).
- Motivation to progress toward further qualifications.
- Advantageous (not essential):
- Prior therapy assistant or educational setting experience.
- Teamwork skills.
- Understanding of SEN and therapy support models.
