Clinical Lead (Psychological Therapist) – Children’s Homes
Salary: £43,453 - £52,493 + excellent benefits

This role is based across 2 children’s homes in Houghton-Le-Spring.
Our clinicians are a crucial part of the most joined-up SEND model. Across all our specialist schools and children’s homes, we provide unrivalled levels of clinical support, encompassing expertise and breadth of provision. Our young people present with a complex range of needs, including:
- Developmental trauma
- Neuro-developmental conditions
- Special educational needs (SEMH, SEN, ASD)
Responsibilities
As part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, your core responsibilities will include:

Clinical Consultancy:
- Supporting educational and residential colleagues to create therapeutic living and learning environments.
- Conducting clinical assessments and formulations to inform individualised interventions.
- Offering tailored engagement strategies for young people.

Mental Health Support:
- Assessing our young people’s mental health needs.
- Recommending and delivering appropriate interventions within personalised care plans.
- Providing counselling and progress feedback.

- Rapport and Therapeutic Intervention:
- Building strong relationships with young people to enable effective therapeutic work.
- Collaborating with a diverse team (education, care, medical) to holistic support models.
Requirements
To thrive in this role, we’re looking for:
- Qualification & Accreditation:
- A qualified professional (or an accredited counsellor), with BACP membership (or equivalent).
- Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of child development.
- Excellent skills in connecting and empowering young people.
- Personality & Attitude:
- High organisational ability.
- Proactive mindset, taking initiative where needed.
- Honesty and empathy as foundational values.
Desirable:
- Advanced qualifications in mental health or therapeutic intervention.
