Therapist - Addiction
£29,000 - £30,000 DOE
40 Hours per week including weekend rotation

Linwood House is part of UK Addiction Treatment Centres (UKAT), is one of the UK’s leading private addiction treatment services, supporting individuals and families on their journey to long-term recovery. Based in the heart of Barnsley, we provide a safe and compassionate environment where clients can begin their recovery with dignity and hope.
We are now seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist to join our experienced therapy team. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of people affected by addiction.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver group therapy sessions and individual counselling in line with our treatment programme.
- Support clients through all stages of their recovery, using evidence-based therapeutic approaches and the 12 step programme.
- Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Develop personalised care plans and maintain accurate client records.
- Provide aftercare planning and relapse-prevention support.

About You
- Qualified counsellor/therapist (minimum Level 4 in counseling, psychotherapy, or equivalent).
- Registered membership with BACP or NCPS, with current membership details visible on the relevant public register. (Essential)
- Experience of working in the field of addiction, substance misuse, or mental health.
- Strong group facilitation and 1:1 counselling skills.
- Compassionate, resilient, and able to maintain professional boundaries.
- A team player with excellent communication skills.
- Proven skills in planning and administration.
- Ability and willingness to develop the treatment programme to suit client need.
- Understanding of the importance of upholding quality standards and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients.

The Recruitment Process
- You will have an initial phone conversation with the talent acquisition specialist which will be an informal chat and opportunity to ask questions about the position
- If you are successful in your initial phone conversation, you will be required to undertake an interview on-site or via video conference. (please note that if you have a video/in-person interview, you will be required to visit the centre at a later date for our 2nd stage interview)
