About the Role
We're excited to be recruiting a new Therapy Assistant to join our Specialist Community Neurology Service. This rewarding role will be primarily based in North Somerset, with opportunities to support colleagues and patients across Bristol and South Gloucestershire when required.
Role Description
As a Therapy Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping people with neurological conditions live as independently and confidently as possible. Working alongside our experienced multidisciplinary team—including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and MS Nurses—you'll provide practical support directly in patients' homes.
No two days are the same. You'll assist with delegated therapy programmes, monitor progress, carry out assessments, and help create resources that support effective treatment plans and positive outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out delegated interventions that will involve both clinical and non clinical work.
- To supervise activities and monitor performance of set delegated plans from registered clinicians.
- To escalate any concerns.
- To recognise risk.
- To deliver treatment plans.
- To complete falls risk screening.
- To support with double ups of visits for safety or manual handling reasons.
- To complete notes in accordance with Sirona standards.
- To assess basic bits of equipment.
- To support the admin team as needed.
