Role Description

The Thermal Insulation Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom. The technician will install, maintain, and repair thermal insulation systems on pipes, ducts, vessels, and other industrial or commercial equipment, following project specifications and industry standards.

  • Measuring and cutting insulation materials
  • Applying appropriate coatings and finishes
  • Ensuring safe work practices when working at height
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area

The role also involves:

  • Inspecting existing installations
  • Assisting with material selection
  • Supporting continuous improvement through training and knowledge sharing

Technicians will collaborate with supervisors, project managers, and other trades to deliver projects on schedule and in line with quality and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills in thermal insulation application, including familiarity with different materials, specifications, and installation methods.
  • Ability to work safely at height, with knowledge of relevant safety procedures, equipment use, and risk assessments.
  • Experience or understanding of protective coatings and finishes used in conjunction with insulation systems.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development, with the capacity to apply research and new techniques to practical work.
  • Prior experience in industrial or commercial insulation, construction, or a related trade is highly beneficial.
  • Good physical fitness, manual dexterity, and the ability to handle tools and materials in varied site conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow drawings, specifications, and written instructions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive and reliable approach to on-site responsibilities.
  • Relevant vocational qualifications or trade certifications in insulation or construction are an advantage.
