About the Role
Salary: Up to £46,800.00 per annum (DOE) plus Veolia benefits
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Location: Newport, Isle of Wight, PO30 5YS

Key Responsibilities
Your role will involve:
- Operating the ERF (Energy Recovery Facility) safely and efficiently, both day and night, including weekends and public holidays.
- Supporting plant operation during steady-state running, start-ups, shutdowns, and emergency situations, under the supervision of the Shift Team Leader.
- Working from the Central Control Room as required.
- Operating and supporting auxiliary plant, including mobile plant and the refuse crane.
- Conducting routine plant inspections, adjustments, and activities to maintain stable performance.
- Accurately collecting, recording, and reporting plant data in line with site procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with the Environmental Permit, escalating any non-compliance, incidents, or concerns to the Shift Team Leader.
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting the reception of consumables, as well as the collection/handling of residues.
- Assisting other site teams and contractors while adhering to safe working practices.
- Ability to undertake other reasonable tasks necessary to meet operational needs.

Requirements
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- IT literacy; confidence in using systems to record plant information and complete documentation.
- An understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements, with a commitment to working safely and compliantly.
- Interest in mechanical and electrical plant; ideally with experience in plant/engineering roles.
- Relevant qualifications (mechanical/electrical or similar) to support safe operation.
- Experience in a shift environment, preferably within an Energy Recovery Facility or similar industrial/process setting.
- Ability to operate/willingness to train on fixed and mobile plant equipment.
- Capacity to work a continuous rotating shift system, including covering overtime.
