Role Description
The Thermodynamics Lecturer will deliver high-quality remote instruction in thermodynamics to learners engaged in aviation and related technical disciplines. This full-time role includes:
- Planning and delivering online lectures, tutorials, and workshops
- Preparing teaching materials, case studies, and assessments that align with industry standards and Craneshaw’s training objectives
- Clarifying complex thermodynamic concepts
- Supporting learners through regular feedback
- Holding virtual office hours to address questions

- Updating course content to reflect current best practices
- Collaborating with training coordinators to improve program design
- Contributing to curriculum development for aviation and corporate training
- Documenting learner progress
- Participating in internal meetings to ensure training quality and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and related engineering principles, preferably with application in aviation or mechanical engineering.
- Experience teaching or training in higher education, professional development, or corporate settings, with proven ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
- Proficiency in developing and delivering online learning materials, including slide decks, digital resources, and assessments, using virtual classroom and LMS platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and provide constructive feedback.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to design practical examples, simulations, and case studies for applied thermodynamics learning.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a full-time remote teaching schedule and meet marking and reporting deadlines.
- Relevant academic qualification, such as a master’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field; professional certifications in aviation or education are an advantage.
- Familiarity with aviation industry standards, safety practices, and technical operations is highly beneficial.
