Third in Charge (Nursery)

Location: Dicky Birds, Pepys Road (part of Grandir UK) Salary: £30,264 – £33,280 (depending on experience & qualifications, with regular pay reviews)

About the Role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Third in Charge to join our vibrant team. Your role will be core to nurturing, supporting, and inspiring our children, fostering curiosity, and helping them reach their full potential every day.


Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating a safe, stimulating, and individualised environment to meet each child’s needs
  • Implementing and maintaining effective childcare systems (monitoring, evaluating, and improving practices)
  • Managing communication with children, staff, parents, and carers
  • Building and maintaining strong, positive working relationships with team members
  • Ensuring adherence to Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards
  • Supporting staff development through goal-setting and performance reviews
  • Taking on playroom management duties as required
  • Monitoring and controlling budgetary spend
