3rd Line Engineer
📍 Based at White City, London (4 days onsite) 💰 £350–450 per day 📄 Outside IR35 📅 Initial 6-Month Contract
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced 3rd Line Engineer to join the IT team of a well-known retail brand undergoing significant investment in its infrastructure. This is a hands-on role, offering opportunities to improve and stabilise a large Microsoft-based environment across infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security.
About the Role
This is a critical position where you’ll provide essential 3rd line support, helping to enhance operational stability while gaining broad exposure to key technologies.
Responsibilities
- Proving 3rd line support for complex technical issues
- Managing Microsoft 365 and Windows environments
- Supporting Azure infrastructure and cloud services
- Leading patching, vulnerability management, and security improvements
- Overseeing backup and disaster recovery processes
- Working with networking, firewalls, and email security platforms
- Supporting infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and improvement projects
- Collaborating closely with a technical IT team

Requirements
Essential:
✔ Proven experience in a 3rd Line Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or Senior IT Support role ✔ Strong Microsoft 365 and Windows administration experience ✔ Hands-on Azure administration experience ✔ Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities ✔ Previous experience supporting medium-to-large organisations ✔ Comprehensive knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure ✔ Ability to work independently and take ownership of issues

Nice to Have (Preferred):
🔹 Experience in retail or e-commerce IT 🔹 CCNA certifications or Azure certifications 🔹 Familiarity with Mimecast, Proofpoint, or Microsoft Defender 🔹 Backup and Disaster Recovery expertise 🔹 PowerShell scripting experience
