Description

Engagement: Fractional / part-time, initial 4-week phase leading to a c.4-month project, with scope for ongoing work

Location: Remote or hybrid, with regular check-ins at our client's Birmingham office (well connected from London and Manchester)

Day rate: £800–£1,200 per day, depending on experience

Start: Immediate – initial output required by end of October

The Opportunity

Exec Capital is retained by a growing advisory business to appoint a senior fractional professional to lead a flagship thought leadership project exploring the role of brand and narrative as a value creation lever in Private Equity.

This is not a marketing role. It is an intellectual leadership brief. You will shape the central hypothesis, design and lead the research programme, interview senior figures across the PE ecosystem – GPs, Operating Partners, value creation specialists – and oversee the development of what our client intends to be a genuinely influential piece of work for the industry.

The premise is that brand is more than a logo: it is an upstream lever of competitive advantage, in fundraising, in origination, in portfolio company growth and at exit. If that idea resonates with you – and you have the standing to interrogate it with the people who matter – we would like to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
