Role Description
The Tig Fabricator/Welder role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Aberdeen Area. Day-to-day responsibilities include fabricating stainless steel components from drawings, performing high-quality TIG welding, and assembling structures and pipework to precise specifications. The role involves measuring, cutting, and preparing materials, setting up equipment safely, and conducting visual checks to ensure weld integrity and dimensional accuracy. The Tig Fabricator/Welder will work closely with supervisors and colleagues to meet project deadlines, maintain a tidy and safe workshop, and follow all health and safety procedures. Occasional work on client sites may be required, depending on project needs.

Qualifications

- Strong TIG welding skills with stainless steel, including ability to produce clean, consistent welds to industry standards.
- Competence in fabrication techniques, such as cutting, forming, and assembling metal components from technical drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometric sketches, and job specifications accurately.
- Solid understanding of workshop safety practices, PPE use, and safe operation of fabrication and welding equipment.
- Previous experience in industrial sectors such as oil and gas, food and beverage, or related metal fabrication environments is advantageous.
- Relevant welding or fabrication qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ/SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) preferred.
- Good attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with reliable timekeeping and a flexible approach to tasks and schedules.
