How You'll Make Health Happen
As a Bank Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide specialist, evidence-based nursing services to patients with complex and chronic wounds. Reporting to the Lead Tissue Viability Nurse, you will be recognised as a clinical expert in advanced wound management and play a key role in driving high standards of tissue viability care across the hospital.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Tissue Viability Service by developing and promoting high-quality, evidence-based wound care practices for both inpatients and outpatients.
- Assessing patients with compromised skin integrity and developing, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on the management of complex wounds and advanced wound therapies.
- Supporting the development and implementation of new procedures, techniques, protocols and policies relating to tissue viability services.
- Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, regulatory and best practice standards relevant to tissue viability.
- Developing and supporting the Tissue Viability Link Nurse network across the organisation.
- Designing and delivering tissue viability education programmes for nursing staff and members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Supporting the induction and ongoing development of new staff through education, mentorship and clinical leadership.
- Contributing to service improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experience.

Key Skills / Qualifications
- Registered Nurse Adult/ RN (essential)
- Teaching/Training Experience (essential)
- Significant understanding of ILS/ALS
- Proven history as an RN in Tissue Viability (essential)
- Knowledge of current policies as set by NICE, EPUAP and EWMA (essential
- Post-registration study in Tissue Viability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels
