The Counter Lead Role
The Counter Lead is responsible for supporting their Brand in driving sales turnover and market share through maintaining a consumer-focused approach.
Key Accountabilities
The role requires reflecting a credible and professional Brand image to both internal and external customers while:
- Maximising sales through elevated selling skills, excellent service, and adherence to retail standards
- Contributing to operational efficiencies via compliance with store/Brand/Company Procedures & Guidelines
- Monitoring daily/weekly targets and ensuring awareness of additional sales avenues (e.g., events, omnichannel, digital channels)
- Tracking competitor activities and missed opportunities to inform strategies
- Managing social media to boost business visibility, protect the Brand image, and drive opportunities
- Delivering the Brand Strategy through an effective local plan, including marketing & event initiatives aligned with retailer activity
- Championing service excellence, fostering zero complaints, and cultivating a "surprise and delight" culture
- Acting as a Brand Ambassador, embodying values and ensuring they are embodied in daily actions
- Managing refunds and complaints in line with Company guidelines, escalating where needed to Area Managers
- Leveraging digital tools to maintain product and market knowledge

Operations
- Ensuring excellent standards in product, housekeeping, displays, messaging, and pricing
- Daily review of retail standards to maintain compliance
- Effective stock movements & admin within Company deadlines
- Full adherence to auditable processes, risk mitigation, and corrective actions
- Accurate fulfilment of information requests by agreed deadlines
- Minimising stock loss through compliance with security policies
- Creating a safe working environment for consumers, adhering to Company & Retailer Policies
- Ensuring all health & safety responsibilities achieve a minimum "Acceptable" audit grade

Commercial Focus
- Daily replenishment management, taking action as needed
- Sales performance maximisation using commercial reports for informed decisions
- Visual merchandising planning and execution to Company guidelines
- Identifying & resolving stock or operational issues, consulting Area Managers when required
- Promotion & discount oversight, ensuring alignment with Company policies
- Trend-spotting & product performance suggestions for enhancement
Requirements
- Proven experience in a fast-paced retail/consumer-facing environment
- Self-driven self-development mindset
- Commercial awareness of industry trends and practices
- Strong communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills
