About the Role
As a Tool Hire Assistant at Jewson, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and excellent service.
Core Responsibility:
- You will be required to drive a 3.5-tonne van to deliver and collect customer orders, so a full UK driving licence is essential.
Working Pattern:
- This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday, 07:30–17:00, with the requirement to work every other Saturday from 08:00–12:00.
Responsibilities

Experience with Tool Hire is essential for this role.

Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resources to ensure efficient, effective, and safe operations.

Lead by example in developing strong relationships through regular customer interaction, supporting the team in maximising growth through pro-active cross-selling.

Deliver and collect customer orders in a timely manner, ensuring:
- Orders are accurate.
- Equipment is secured.
- All loading/offloading is conducted safely, in accordance with company procedures.

Support branch colleagues in building knowledge and competence in tool hire products.

Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure tools and machinery are:
- Clean.
- Safe.
- Fully operational.

Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and record keeping.

Inspect, test, and carry out basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant (e.g., breakers, saws, mixers, access equipment).
