Tool Hire Assistant – Jewson

About the Role

As a Tool Hire Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive safe, well-maintained equipment and exceptional service. This is a full-time role, working:

  • Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Every other Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

A full UK driving licence is essential, as part of the role includes operating a 3.5-tonne delivery van. Experience in tool hire operations is a must.


Key Responsibilities

Customer & Service Excellence

  • Deliver day-to-day tool hire activities, deploying resources to maintain efficient, effective, and safe operations.
  • Set the standard for customer relationships through regular interactions, proactively contributing to cross-selling for team growth.
  • Ensure accurate, timely delivery and collection of customer orders while prioritising safety and adherence to company procedures.

Operational & Technical Support

  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections, confirming tools and machinery are clean, safe, and fully operational.
  • Secure and safely handle the loading and offloading of equipment.
  • Complete all relevant delivery documentation and maintain meticulous record-keeping.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and basic repairs on a range of tools and small plant, including:
    • Breakers
    • Saws
    • Mixers
    • Access equipment
