MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious manufacturing client in their 2026 recruitment initiative with the recruitment of a permanent Tool Maintenance Technician (Dayshift), to join their team. If you have a background in toolmaking, die maintenance, tool maintenance or similar, apply now for an immediate response!
The job you'll do:
- Carry out all work safely, adhering to site rules, procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain, service, and repair mould tooling and associated components to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform precision machining operations to support production, engineering, and maintenance requirements.
- Monitor the tool change schedule through planning reports and tool change meetings to ensure timely completion of work.
- Collaborate with the Planning team to develop and maintain an effective maintenance schedule.
- Complete maintenance activities in accordance with the planned maintenance programme.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of tooling spares and consumables to support operational requirements.
- Ensure the tool room and surrounding work areas are maintained to a consistently high standard of housekeeping.
- Liaise with external suppliers to coordinate tooling requirements, repairs, and procurement activities.
- Attend and contribute to meetings representing the Tool Room as required.
- Conduct risk assessments and support audit activities across the factory to promote a safe working environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Tool Room to enhance efficiency, quality, and reliability.

About you:
- Time served apprenticeship in Toolmaking, Die Maintenance or similar
- Experience working within plastics or injection moulding manufacturing
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills at all levels.
