About The Role

We're looking for an Extrusion Tooling Preparation Operative to join our team. You'll be responsible for looking after the tooling used within our extrusion department, making sure it's clean, well maintained and ready for production.

The role involves cleaning, repairing and inspecting tooling, carrying out routine checks, and helping identify when tools need replacing or improving. By keeping our tooling in the best possible condition, you'll help the production team reduce downtime, improve quality and keep everything running smoothly.

What you'll be doing

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Cleaning, maintaining and repairing extrusion tooling.
  • Inspecting tooling for wear or damage and recommending repairs or replacements where needed.
  • Testing mechanical and electrical components before tools are released back into production.
  • Keeping accurate maintenance records and reporting any recurring issues.
  • Monitoring tooling consumables and maintaining suitable stock levels.
  • Checking returned tooling to make sure it's complete and ready for use.
  • Updating tooling reports once work has been completed.
  • Working to the production plan to ensure tooling is available when required.
  • Retaining last-off samples for future reference.
  • Making sure all measurements and settings meet tooling specifications.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
