About the Role
In this engaging, hands-on position, you’ll manufacture, repair, and maintain high-precision tooling—ensuring quality, timelines, and standards are met. Your craftmatism ensures production agility, enabling Trelleborg to respond rapidly to custom orders, special designs, and changing business demands. Collaboration with production, engineering, and maintenance teams keeps our equipment reliable, safe, and operational.
This role offers flexible shift options:
- Day shift: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM
- Rotating shift: 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM and 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
Core Duties

High-Precision Toolmaking
- Manufacture and refurbish high-precision equipment to tight technical specifications using manual/CNC machinery, including XYZ ProTrak machines.

Tool Design & Development
- Work closely with design teams to interpret engineering drawings and develop custom tooling solutions for advanced products and automation processes.

Problem Solving & Innovation
- Provide timely solutions to manufacturing challenges. Propose and implement innovations to optimise tooling and operational efficiency.

Workshop Standards
- Maintain an organised, safe, and compliant workshop environment through consistent housekeeping and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Collaborative Support
- Help the maintenance team execute projects as requested.

Continuous Improvement
- Engage in Trelleborg’s Manufacturing Excellence initiatives and drive processes for better efficiency.

Mentorship & Team Growth
- Assist with apprentice development and share technical expertise across teams.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Apprenticeship-qualified in engineering, or equivalent technical certification.
- Proven precision machining, tool design, and fabrication expertise.
- Specialisation in high-precision, low-tolerance tooling.
- Hands-on experience with CNC/CAD programming (with preference for XYZ ProTrak machines).

Location & Compliance
- Primary site: Bridgwater, UK
- Occasional UK travel may be required for operational support.
