Topographical Engineering Surveyor
Locations - Multiple locations (Manchester, Leeds, Yorkshire, Birmingham, Doncaster, Preston, Sheffield)
We are seeking an experienced Topographical Engineering Surveyor with a strong background in delivering high-quality topographical and engineering surveys for major construction, infrastructure, rail, highways, or utilities projects. The ideal candidate will have experience using modern surveying equipment and software, with 3D laser scanning experience being highly desirable. You will be responsible for carrying out accurate site surveys, processing survey data, and producing detailed drawings to support design and construction teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out topographical, engineering, measured building, and as-built surveys across a variety of infrastructure and construction projects.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks and site benchmarks using Total Stations, GNSS/GPS, and digital levels.
- Undertake precise setting out for civil engineering and construction works.
- Perform 3D laser scanning surveys to capture accurate point cloud data for existing structures, buildings, and infrastructure.
- Process and register laser scan data using industry-standard software to produce accurate point clouds, 3D models, and survey deliverables.
- Produce topographical survey drawings, measured building plans, elevations, sections, and digital terrain models using AutoCAD and relevant survey software.
- Verify completed works by carrying out as-built surveys and preparing survey reports.
- Ensure all survey work complies with project specifications, company procedures, and industry standards.
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, designers, and site teams to provide accurate survey information and technical support.
- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment, ensuring all instruments remain in good working order.
- Work safely in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and site-specific requirements.

Essential Requirements

- Proven experience as a Topographical or Engineering Surveyor.
- Strong knowledge of topographical surveying techniques and engineering survey principles.
- Proficient in the use of Total Stations, GNSS/GPS, digital levels, and data collectors.
- Experience producing survey drawings using AutoCAD.
- Good understanding of coordinate systems, control networks, and survey calculations.
- Ability to process survey data and produce accurate deliverables.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
