Tourism & Hospitality Employability Project Coordinator (Edinburgh)
Location: Edinburgh

Pay: Starting from £15.00 per hour
Help people move forward. Leave no one behind.
We’re looking for a compassionate, organised, and motivated Employability Project Coordinator to support people from all walks of life into sustainable employment within Scotland’s thriving tourism, hospitality, and catering industries.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference every day by helping individuals build confidence, develop life skills, gain industry experience, and progress into meaningful work.
The role follows a daytime working pattern, potentially suitable for people seeking employment during school hours.
About the Role
As an Employability Project Coordinator, you’ll manage your own caseload of participants, delivering a high-quality employability programme that includes recruitment, coaching, training, and job brokering. You’ll work independently across Edinburgh while remaining part of a supportive and successful national team.
You’ll be the trusted supporter guiding participants throughout their journey—building confidence, removing barriers, and assisting them in taking their next steps towards employment or further education.
While you won’t need expertise in hospitality training, experience within the industry will be helpful. You'll be supported by senior hospitality professionals who deliver practical training through workshops in professional cookery, barista skills, bartending, legislation, restaurant service, and hotel operations. You’ll concentrate on coaching participants, monitoring their progress, and helping them overcome employment barriers. Together, you’ll deliver an inspiring and preparing learning experience for lasting hospitality careers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
