Ross-on-Wye Town Council is looking for an enthusiastic, creative and proactive Tourism and Events Officer to help showcase everything our beautiful town has to offer.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in promoting Ross-on-Wye as a destination for visitors while also engaging residents through marketing initiatives and a varied programme of events. You’ll develop and deliver tourism campaigns, work with local businesses and community partners, and organise events that celebrate and enhance the town.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, a passion for tourism and place promotion, and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience or qualifications in tourism, marketing, events or a related field would be an advantage, but we welcome applicants with transferable skills and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
