Town Centre Regeneration Support Officer
Job Description
Salary range: Grade 8 £40,182 - £42,060 p.a. plus fantastic benefits
Contract: Fixed Term /Secondment
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Croydon
This is a 2 year fixed term contract - for internal applicants only a secondment opportunity is available for 1 year with the idea to extend after the first year.
This is an exciting time to join the Commercial Delivery team at Croydon Council, working across a programme of Transformation initiatives including corporate priorities, as well as supporting the Croydon Town Centre Regeneration Programme. These workstreams will deliver a range of commercial projects across the borough, and also a diverse range of regeneration projects delivering improvements in the public realm, highways and community activation to deliver social and economic impact.
About The Role
We are recruiting a Programme Support Officer who will report into the Commercial Development and Delivery Services Programme Director and support the Town Centre Regeneration Programme Manager and the wider programme teams.
The role holder will work with Project and Regeneration Managers, Heads of Service and wider Council departments (e.g. Finance, service teams) as well as suppliers and funders.
The role supports the governance required to deliver the programme and there will be some opportunities to implement incremental improvements in governance processes. Key day to day activities include; secretariat support, project reporting (Verto), actions tracking, maintaining risk and issue registers, document management. What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual with success in a fast-paced and complex environment with:
- Strong experience of working in projects/ programmes
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Experienced in governance/ secretariat, including organising boards and other governance meetings, recording minutes and actions, action tracking
- The ability to work independently to manage competing deadlines
- A proactive, problem-solving approach with attention to detail
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work with senior stakeholders
