The Opportunity
An established, independent planning consultancy is looking to appoint a Town Planner or Senior Town Planner to join its head office team in Banbury.
This highly regarded consultancy specialises in securing planning permission across complex and often contentious development projects. Acting for a broad client base including developers, landowners, corporates and public sector bodies, the team is known for driving projects forward and delivering results in challenging planning environments.
With a strong pipeline of work nationwide and a reputation for handling high-profile schemes, this is an excellent opportunity to join a commercially focused and dynamic planning team.

The Role
You will play a key role in the delivery of planning projects, working closely with senior colleagues while taking increasing responsibility for your own caseload.
Responsibilities Include
- Managing and supporting planning applications and appeals
- Advising clients on planning strategy and development potential
- Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation
- Engaging with local authorities, stakeholders and project teams
- Coordinating multidisciplinary inputs across projects
- Supporting public consultations and stakeholder engagement
The role offers exposure to a wide range of sectors and complex planning scenarios, including strategic land, residential and commercial development.

About You
- RTPI-accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
- Working towards or already MRTPI (for senior level)
- Experience within a consultancy or local authority environment
- Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset
