Are you an experienced Planning Manager looking to play a key role in shaping high-quality residential developments across the North West?
Our client, a well-established and highly respected residential developer, is seeking an ambitious Planning Manager to join its growing Land & Planning team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of sites, influence planning strategy from acquisition through to consent, and work within a collaborative business where your expertise will have a genuine impact.
The Role
Working closely with the Land, Technical and Commercial teams, you'll lead the planning process across a range of residential developments, providing strategic planning advice and ensuring projects are successfully progressed through the planning system.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning strategies for residential development sites.
- Manage planning applications, appeals and planning conditions from inception through to determination.
- Provide planning input into land acquisition opportunities, including planning appraisals and due diligence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, consultees and key stakeholders.
- Manage external planning consultants and the wider consultant team.
- Monitor emerging planning policy and Local Plan reviews, identifying opportunities and potential risks.
- Support negotiations on Section 106 Agreements and planning obligations.
- Present planning recommendations to senior management and contribute to business strategy.

About You
You'll be a confident planning professional with experience either within a residential developer, strategic land business or planning consultancy, looking to take the next step in your career.
You'll ideally have:
- MRTPI qualification.
- Experience managing residential planning applications.
- Excellent knowledge of the UK planning system.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance planning strategy with business objectives.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
