Job Description: Toxicologist

Arxada is a global leader in innovative solutions that protect our world. Our groundbreaking technologies, in-depth regulatory know-how, manufacturing and process development help our customers to safeguard nutrition, health and infrastructure efficiently through chemistry and biotechnology that enhance sustainability. We offer a broad portfolio of ingredients and services for multiple end-markets that include Human Health & Nutrition, Home & Personal Care, Professional Hygiene, Paints & Coatings and Wood Protection. With customers in more than 100 countries, the company achieved sales of CHF 2 billion in 2024. Headquartered in Basel (Switzerland), Arxada employs 3,200 associates across 24 production sites and 14 R&D centers, all committed to our customers’ success.

Arxada has an exciting opportunity for a Toxicologist to join our Toxicology and Environmental Sciences team. The role can be based in Manchester (UK) or Barcelona (Spain) or possibly at our offices in Delft (NL), Hannover (DE), or Warsaw (PL). For an experienced candidate, we would additionally consider a virtual office set-up.

This is a highly visible role in our Toxicology and Environmental Sciences team, combining scientific expertise, project coordination, and strategic influence in a fast-paced matrix organization. Acting as both a thought partner and a hands-on contributor, the Toxicologist will work at the interface of technical, regulatory, commercial, and product teams, while also engaging with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, consultants, and industry associations. This position offers strong opportunities for internal and external visibility, networking, and learning, making it an excellent next career step for a regulatory toxicologist ready to broaden their impact and grow into a more influential role.

The Toxicologist delivers business results by ensuring that the products developed and marketed by Arxada meet internal standards as well as relevant regulatory requirements in terms of human and environmental safety. The Toxicologist brings curiosity, drive, and strong technical insight to their projects, guiding regulatory colleagues and business partners, identifying data gaps early, shaping product strategies, and responding confidently to regulatory risk assessment requests.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
