Are you a TP141 Commissioning Engineer looking for your next long-term contract on major National Grid transmission projects?
We are recruiting experienced TP141 Commissioning Engineers to support the delivery of two major substation projects in East Anglia and Oxfordshire, each offering approximately two years of work.
This company is a specialist high-voltage engineering company delivering end-to-end power system solutions across the transmission and distribution sectors. Its expertise includes system design, manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of HV substations and protection & control systems, supporting utility, renewable energy and critical infrastructure projects throughout the UK and internationally.

Working on a subcontract basis, you will play a key role in the safe commissioning and energisation of high-voltage transmission assets while working alongside established project teams.
The Role:
- Carry out commissioning activities on HV transmission substations up to 400kV.
- Complete primary plant, protection and control commissioning in accordance with National Grid TP141 procedures.
- Perform functional testing, interlocking checks and support energisation activities.
- Complete commissioning documentation, test records and handover packs.
- Work closely with project managers, clients and site teams to ensure programmes are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Travel to project sites in East Anglia or Oxfordshire as required.
The Person:
- Current National Grid TP141 Commissioning Engineer authorisation.
- Proven experience commissioning HV substations within the transmission sector.
- Strong understanding of National Grid commissioning procedures and safety rules.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
