About Formula E:

Formula E, the world's fastest-growing sport, is redefining motorsport with a bold focus on innovation and sustainability. Hosting over 100 races in iconic cities globally and backed by top manufacturers like Porsche and Jaguar, we feature elite drivers and cutting-edge EV technology. As the world's first sport certified Net Zero Carbon from inception, Formula E combines thrilling entertainment with a mission to advance sustainable progress, inspiring a global fanbase with our high-performance brand new GEN3 EVO race car capable of 0-60mph in 1.82 seconds (0-100kph in 1.86s).

Using the spectacle of sport, we are sending a powerful and meaningful message to help alter perceptions and speed-up the switch to electric mobility. Welcome to the home of Global Electric Street Racing.

The Role:

Are you an unshakeable, high-energy technology professional ready to orchestrate the critical infrastructure that powers world-class motorsport? We are looking for a Trackside Technology Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery, stability, and management of our technical footprint at all championship race and test events. This isn't an office-bound IT job; it is a high-octane, hands-on role where you will bridge the gap between strategic supplier management and rugged, trackside execution under live-broadcast pressure.

  • Zero-Downtime Network Stewardship: You will own the uptime of our mission-critical Sporting, Communications, and Event networks. Your goal is simple: guarantee uptime and flawless latency stability during every official track session, ensuring safety and performance are never compromised.
  • Infrastructure Design & Fiber Mapping: Before the event build begins, you will produce and sign off on detailed network layouts, physical fiber path diversity plans, and redundancy architectures to eliminate single points of failure at temporary street circuits and permanent tracks.
  • On-Site Execution & Freight Operations: From overseeing the physical installation, splicing, and testing of fiber rings to managing the off-season maintenance and international customs paperwork for our technology freight, you will be deeply hands-on with both the hardware and the logistics.
  • Stakeholder & Request Management: You will act as the central interface for all ad-hoc connectivity requests. Whether configuring dedicated Wi-Fi networks for VIP hospitality, distributing IP-CCTV feeds to broadcasters, or managing bandwidth allocation (ACLs) for race teams, you will deliver seamless service to a diverse global stakeholder base.
  • SLA Audits & Continuous Improvement: Your job doesn't end at the checkered flag. Within 72 hours of every race, you will author comprehensive technical debriefs, analyzing vendor performance against strict SLAs, documenting any technical incidents, and outlining systemic improvements for the next event.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for in you:

  • The Motorsport-Tested Engineer: You bring 5+ years of experience in network engineering, systems administration, or IT project delivery, with at least 2 years operating in high-pressure, live-event, or motorsport environments (e.g., Formula E, F1, WEC, or tier-1 sports broadcasting).
  • The Technical & Physical Generalist: You have deep expertise in enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, firewalls) and wireless technologies (RF planning, Wi-Fi 6/7, spectrum management). You are equally comfortable discussing IP protocols (Dante, AES67, PTP) as you are rolling up your sleeves to handle outdoor-rated fiber-optic cabling and copper deployments in the pit lane.
  • The Diplomatic Vendor Manager: You have a proven track record of managing high-value technical contracts and holding on-site delivery partners (especially timekeeping or telemetry suppliers) accountable to strict SLAs, maintaining professional authority across different cultures and languages.
  • The Unshakeable Crisis Leader: When things go wrong on live TV, you are the stabilizing anchor. You possess exceptional mental agility, a logical troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to translate complex technical failures into clear, actionable updates for executive leadership and race officials in real-time.
  • The Resilient Global Traveler: You have the physical and mental stamina to thrive during challenging on-site schedules, outdoor weather extremes, and constant international travel, maintaining a meticulous, "zero-error" mindset despite timezone fatigue.
