Associate in Trade and Structured Working Capital Credit Risk, Europe, Middle East and Africa

As an Associate in Trade and Structured Working Capital Credit Risk, Europe, Middle East and Africa, you will provide independent credit judgment and constructive challenge on trade and working capital financing transactions. You will partner with product and coverage teams to help deliver well-structured solutions for clients while maintaining a strong risk culture. You will spend most of your time on transaction reviews, credit analysis, structuring discussions, documentation assessment, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. You will also contribute to product evolution and to the policies and controls that support safe growth.

Job responsibilities

  • Evaluate new originations, renewals, and amendments, including structure, borrower and counterparty risk, collateral, repayment sources, and key risk mitigants
  • Analyze credit risk using financial, transaction, and portfolio information to form clear, independent recommendations
  • Partner with product and coverage teams to shape structures and risk mitigants for transactions in the pipeline
  • Review documentation and identify gaps, non-standard terms, and emerging risks; recommend appropriate protections
  • Decide on risk positions for variations from standard documentation, product policy, or guidelines, escalating as needed
  • Monitor exposures across trade and working capital products and strengthen monitoring frameworks as the portfolio evolves
  • Develop portfolio analytics and data-driven insights to improve monitoring, reporting, and risk assessment efficiency
  • Collaborate with credit risk management, legal, trade management, and other stakeholders to ensure risk views are reflected in execution
  • Support new product structures, policy exceptions, and control design to enable responsible growth
  • Document analyses, rationales, and monitoring outputs to maintain strong governance and auditability
  • Deliver training to internal partners on trade products and the risks and mitigants that matter most

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Relevant experience in credit risk, trade risk, structured finance, or a closely related role
  • Demonstrate strong credit underwriting and analytical skills, including ability to assess complex transaction structures
  • Show experience with, or a strong interest in, structured working capital finance, export agency-backed financing, or other trade finance products
  • Operate effectively in a time-sensitive environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Apply sound judgment to assess collateral, repayment sources, documentation terms, and risk mitigants
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with stakeholders at different levels of the organization
  • Influence outcomes through constructive challenge and solutions-oriented collaboration
  • Work independently with a proactive, self-starting approach while partnering well across teams
  • Analyze portfolio data to identify key trends and emerging risks
  • Use technology-enabled tools to support monitoring, reporting, and decision-making
  • Interpret and negotiate legal documentation relevant to trade and working capital transactions

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bring experience supporting trade and working capital credit risk across Europe, Middle East and Africa
  • Have hands-on experience with supply chain finance, trade loans, and letters of credit
  • Demonstrate strong structuring capability on complex, multi-party transactions and related risk mitigants
  • Build scalable monitoring approaches (for example, early-warning indicators, concentration views, and counterparty watchlists)
  • Use data analytics tooling to automate or streamline portfolio reporting and risk insights
  • Contribute to product governance through policy drafting, control design, and exception management
  • Present and train effectively, translating technical risk topics into practical guidance for business partners
