Position Summary
A growing energy and environmental commodities brokerage is seeking a Junior Clerk to support day-to-day Middle Office operations across EMEA desks. This role operates in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment where accuracy and responsiveness are critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade & Operational Support
- Input and validate trades accurately and at pace
- Check trade details (price, volume, counterparty) for completeness and consistency
- Monitor broker trade flow and ensure timely capture
- Flag and escalate discrepancies or missing information immediately
- Support confirmations and reconciliation activities

Front Office Support
- Work closely with brokers to ensure timely and accurate trade capture
- Provide administrative and operational support to desks
- Proactively identify and escalate issues or inconsistencies to senior operations staff to prevent downstream errors

Reporting & Controls
- Assist in daily and monthly reporting processes
- Support data accuracy and basic control checks
- Maintain organised records to support audit and compliance requirements

Learning & Development
- Build understanding of energy and environmental products and markets
- Develop operational knowledge across systems and processes
- Progress towards increased responsibility within Middle Office and potential broking pathway
Candidate Profile
Required:
- Strong attention to detail with ability to work accurately under time pressure
- Good numerical skills and comfort working with trade data
- Reliable and organised, with ability to handle repetitive tasks consistently
- Familiarity with Excel
- Willingness to learn and take ownership of small tasks
Desirable:
- Interest in financial markets, commodities, or energy trading
- Strong communication skills

This role provides a foundation within brokerage operations, offering direct exposure to trading desks and a structured pathway for progression within Middle Office or into a broking role over time.

Base Salary
Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, knowledge, education and training. However, compensation in the following regions is expected to be as follows:
London: Compensation is expected to be between £30,000-£40,000
