What to expect: We are seeking a Trade Compliance Officer to support UK/EU/Swiss trade compliance activities in a highly-regulated, high‑technology environment.

The Trade Compliance Officer will act as a subject matter expert (SME) for export controls, sanctions and customs compliance, supporting the business in the development, manufacture and international transfer of controlled goods, software and technology.

The role is responsible for interpreting and applying UK/EU/Swiss trade regulations in a practical manner, enabling compliant business operations. You will partner closely with internal teams—including Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Legal—to ensure compliant import/export activities, licensing, and documentation while enabling business growth.

What you’ll be responsible for: Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for UK/EU/Swiss export controls, sanctions and customs compliance, providing clear and commercially pragmatic guidance to the business. Support business decision-making by assessing compliance risks in transactions, supply chains and projects, proposing risk mitigation strategies, and managing export authorisation requirements, including licensing assessments, applications and ongoing compliance with licence conditions. Determine and maintain export control and customs classifications, and monitor regulatory developments across the UK, EU and Switzerland, advising stakeholders on the implications for the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
