Hours & Work Pattern
- 44 hours per week
- Mon–Fri: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Sat: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (rota basis)
Salary & Earnings Potential
- Basic Salary: £29,080.48 per year
- Bonus/OTE Possible: £32,680.48 total earnings per year (Realistic earning potential)

The Role in Detail
Our Trade Counter Assistants work closely with Branch Managers and Branch Supervisors in day-to-day operations, serving as frontline customer-facing members of the team.
Responsibilities: Key Duties
- Managing trade counter sales to meet targets by prominently communicating product knowledge to customers.
- Delivering exceptional customer service, fostering trust with both new and existing clients.
- Engaging in product picking, loading, and delivery using 3.5-tonne flatbed trucks and long-wheelbase vans.
- Route planning, carrying out all deliveries safely while maintaining vehicles in a clean and professional state.
- Supporting the Branch Manager by working efficiently on assigned tasks and adhering to schedules and procedures.
- Ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety policies and company guidelines.
- Supporting sales goals while maintaining positive relationships and excellent customer service standards.
- Maintaining branch operations, including:
- Warehouse and stock management
- Front-of-house cleanliness and presentation
- Point of sale and overall branch standards

Job Requirements
For this role, the following attributes and experiences are essential:
- Underlying passion for delivering top-tier customer service and contributing to business success.
- Strong customer-centric adaptability, enjoying engagement with clients and balancing sales enthusiasm with empowered, fair guidance.
- Commercial mindset in maximising sales and margins while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Organisational skills with proven ability to prioritise tasks and work autonomously.
- Confident IT proficiency, including experience with:
- Microsoft Office
- Industry-specific software (e.g., SAP)
- Full and valid driver’s licence (essential) – FLT (Freight Liners Tanker) licence is advantageous.
- Previous involvement in branch stock-takes considered an advantage.
- Ability to work in a team environment and, occasionally, as the sole team member.
- Ideal candidates possess experience in a trade, builders merchant, retail, glazing, or uPVC environment.
