Trade Marketing Manager

We are looking for a commercially minded Trade Marketing Manager to help drive growth across a leading brand portfolio in the UK and wider EMEA region. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and thrives in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

This role is on a hybrid working pattern based in our Uxbridge office. 3 days per week in the office, currently Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and the other 2 days per week from home.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements trade marketing strategies and plans that support annual brand plans, new campaigns, innovations and initiatives for Gallo brands, aligns brand objectives with sales and customers.
  • Collaborate with sales managers and distributor partners across region to align on customer programs. Ensures they align with brand strategies and are presented well in advance of customer deadlines.
  • Ensures consumer and customer insights drive the plan, resulting in targeted execution.
  • Leads the development and execution of in-store and online trade marketing initiatives for brand portfolio across Retail and On-Premise.
  • Develops and executes consumer and customer experiential initiatives and promotional collaborations working with external agencies or distributors.
  • Develop and optimizes POS creative, display tools and online content for customer initiatives to fit suit local needs.
  • Uses a variety of data sources to analyze relevant business situations and proactively recognize, evaluate, and address key business issues, drivers and growth opportunities.
  • Observes trends in retail / on-premise, uses knowledge about consumers, competition and customers to support the creation of business solutions and provide ideas that inform brand strategy.
  • Creates and makes presentations to customers as needed (i.e.: NPDs, campaigns and brand strategies and future initiatives).
  • Observes and analyses new trends and competitive activities to seek out innovative ways to build the brands.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of marketing plan modifications, package changes and line extensions.
  • Works with the domestic commerce/trade team to understand their strategies and initiatives and how we can expand and access their capabilities in our market.
  • Continuous market visits to customers and local sales teams to align on Gallo strategy and understand opportunities and challenges.
  • Responsible for optimizing and evaluating effectiveness of trade marketing plans, ROI analysis and collaborates with other key functional areas and manages outside agencies to accomplish objectives on schedule and within budget.

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of marketing, trade or sales experience within a major international FMCG company reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Trade marketing experience.
  • Strong track record in delivering successful trade marketing initiatives in the UK and European markets, in close cooperation with Sales / Distributors / customers.
  • Experience in delivering trade marketing campaigns for RTD brands and / or on-premise channel.
  • Strong digital skill set and experience in executing digital initiatives with key customers.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Customer-oriented, with strong project management and organization skills.
  • Commercially adept, experience in budget/P&L management.
  • Computer skill requirements include: Advance MS Word and PowerPoint; intermediate MS Excel, confident using AI and database; strong in IRI/Circana/Nielsen and UK retailer databases.
