Trade Marketing Specialist - UK Market

One of the leaders in the poultry and value-added food products market is looking for a Trade Marketing Specialist for the UK market. The role is commercial and execution-oriented: the successful candidate will support the UK CBD team by converting market and customer insights into trade activations, customer arguments, promotional mechanics, product launch support and measurable ROI.

This is not a classic brand-only marketing role. The person should work close to CBD, customers and distributors, with a strong understanding of trade spend, gross-to-net thinking, customer activation, channel priorities and promo effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the UK trade marketing plan aligned with sales targets, channel priorities, customer plans and product launch roadmap.
  • Support UK CBD teams with customer presentations, trade stories, product arguments, competitor insights and activation proposals.
  • Plan and execute trade marketing campaigns, customer activations, promotional mechanics, listing support, sampling, trade shows and POS/customer materials.
  • Manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring transparent approval, tracking and cost-effective use of resources.
  • Distinguish trade marketing investment from commercial discounts and support the team in evaluating gross-to-net impact.
  • Prepare pre- and post-promotion analysis: expected uplift, actual sales impact, margin effect, ROI, learnings and recommendations.
  • Monitor UK FMCG market dynamics: customer/channel trends, competitor prices, promotions, assortment, private label activity and category developments.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with key trade partners, distributors, wholesalers, foodservice partners and customer teams where relevant.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Demand Planning to ensure seamless execution and availability.
  • Provide training and practical support to sales teams on trade marketing tools, promo mechanics, customer materials and post-evaluation discipline.
  • Stay updated on UK market trends and best practices in trade marketing to drive continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
