Senior Trade Support Officer - Wealth Management - Contract - London
Our client are seeking an experienced Senior Trade Support Officer to join our Investment Operations function. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to play a key role in supporting the full trade lifecycle across a diverse range of asset classes.
Working closely with Portfolio Managers, Dealers, Custodians and external counterparties, you'll help ensure trades are executed, matched and settled accurately while maintaining the highest standards of operational efficiency and client service.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Trade Support Officer, you'll be responsible for supporting post-trade activities across multiple asset classes, ensuring the smooth settlement of trades and resolving exceptions efficiently. You'll act as a key liaison between internal investment teams and external market participants, helping to minimise operational risk while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end trade support process across equities, ETFs, fixed income, collective investments, foreign exchange and other asset classes.
- Monitor trade matching and settlement activity, ensuring all trades are affirmed accurately and within market deadlines.
- Investigate and resolve settlement issues, failed trades, non-receipts and interest claims in a timely manner.
- Build strong working relationships with brokers, custodians and third-party administrators to resolve trade-related queries and exceptions.
- Serve as a primary contact for internal stakeholders, including Portfolio Managers, Dealers and Relationship Managers, for operational trade support.
- Monitor daily trade activity and identify any discrepancies requiring investigation.
- Produce and distribute trade files to custodians and external service providers.
- Maintain accurate broker, account and settlement information across internal systems.
- Support the onboarding of new accounts, settlement instructions and investment instruments.
- Contribute to operational improvement initiatives, system enhancements and project work designed to improve efficiency and controls.

About You
You'll be an experienced investment operations professional with a strong understanding of global markets and post-trade processes. You enjoy problem-solving, take ownership of your work and are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience within Trade Support, Middle Office or Investment Operations within a Wealth Management firm.
- Strong knowledge of trade matching and settlement processes across global markets.
- Hands-on experience with DTCC CTM and ALERT.
- Experience using SS&C Advent is advantageous, although experience with other Order Management Systems is equally valuable.
- Familiarity with Calastone.
- Experience working with multiple custodians and external counterparties.
- Knowledge of a broad range of financial instruments including equities, fixed income, ETFs, collective investments and foreign exchange.
- Professional qualifications such as IMC, IOC/IAQ, or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
