Here at the Mick George Group, we are currently recruiting a Transport Coordinator to join the Trade Waste team. Location: Mick George Head Office – Huntingdon Working Hours: Monday – Friday between 6am-6pm, Saturdays as Required. (Rota Basis) Pay: To be discussed at Interview, dependant on experience. This role ensures the efficient scheduling and execution of vehicle movements to maximise productivity, minimise costs, and deliver exceptional customer service. Responsibilities: Daily Fleet Coordination: Schedule and manage daily work across the recycling fleet to ensure optimal geographic and logistical efficiency. Minimise unladen mileage and operating costs. Ensure timely deliveries and service excellence. Real-Time Operations Management: Monitor and update the transport management system with accurate job statuses throughout each shift. Proactively identify and resolve potential delays or operational issues. Monitor VOR (Vehicle Off Road) statuses and utilise available vehicles effectively. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all vehicle and driver operations comply with relevant transport legislation and company health & safety policies. Maintain scheduled vehicle maintenance and servicing appointments. Driver Performance Management: Monitor and review driver performance. Provide feedback, coaching, and performance management as needed to maintain high operational standards. Customer Liaison & Service Delivery: Act as a point of contact for the Sales team and customers to manage service requirements and ongoing projects. Ensure customer service is prioritised while maintaining fleet efficiency. General Duties: Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by the business. Skills & Competencies Required: Strong organisational and planning skills Effective communication and problem-solving abilities Knowledge of transport operations and relevant compliance regulations Previous experience in a logistics or transport coordination role (preferable) Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational needs The Mick George Group is committed to providing equality of opportunity for all.
