Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Trader role based at Hillfox Produce Limited’s office in Evesham. The Trader will focus on telephone-based trading of fresh produce, managing daily buying and selling activities with suppliers and customers across the UK. Day-to-day tasks include sourcing seasonal products, negotiating prices and terms, managing orders, and maintaining accurate records of transactions. The role involves building and sustaining strong relationships with growers, importers, wholesalers, and other key partners to ensure reliable supply and competitive offerings. The Trader will also monitor market trends, respond quickly to changing demand, and collaborate with colleagues to support overall business performance.

Qualifications

- Proven experience in fresh produce trading or a closely related commodities trading environment, ideally with a strong telephone-based sales background.
- Solid commercial skills, including negotiation, pricing analysis, and margin management, with the ability to make timely trading decisions.
- Strong relationship management and customer service skills, with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships with suppliers and buyers.
- Good numerical and analytical skills, with competence in using spreadsheets, order management systems, and basic business software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confident telephone manner and clear, professional presentation style.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment, manage multiple deals simultaneously, and remain accurate under time pressure.
- Knowledge of the UK fresh produce market, seasonal availability, and logistics considerations is highly beneficial.
- Self-motivated, results-driven approach, with a collaborative mindset and readiness to contribute to a small, dedicated team.
- Willingness to be fully on-site in Evesham and to adapt working hours to business needs when required.
- Relevant experience in sales, procurement, or trading; formal education in business, agriculture, or a related field is an advantage but not essential.
