Platform Property Care is seeking an experienced Trades Supervisor to join its leadership team in Herefordshire. The role involves supporting the delivery of responsive repairs and void management services to maintain and repair customer homes to a high standard.
What could you be doing?
As Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise a remote multi-skill trades team, offering practical, technical and operational support
- Work closely with the Service Manager to meet operational objectives
- Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively while engaging the team for high performance
- Analyse data and monitor performance to selft-a a customer-focused maintenance service meeting required SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
- Assist the Service Manager in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly business objectives
In partnership with the Service Manager, your focus will be on team leadership, coaching, and engagement, ensuring alignment with the company’s ‘Bring Your Best Value’, while promoting a customer-centric approach of ’value for money’ and ’right-first-time’.

Daily responsibilities include:
- Conducting monthly 1-2-1 team meetings
- Managing absences and HR-related discussions
- Performance monitoring and resource allocation
- Reporting to the Service Manager and escalating as required
Training on people-focused activities will be provided—enthusiasm and determination to lead are essential. This role focuses heavily on team management, delivering against key SLA targets.

Requirements
Essential:
- Trade qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry) – this is mandatory
- Experience in customer-focused environments
- Background in social housing repairs or void management
- Ability to make key decisions, taking responsibility and accountability for service success
- Fully valid UK driving licence (essential for mobile role)
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check (required due to working in customers' homes)
- IT Literacy (especially Excel and other Microsoft packages)

Desirable:
- Proven experience supervising or managing multi-skill trades teams
- Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on relationship-building
- Experience working in remote or mobile environments
Location Notes: This is a mobile role based in Hereford & Leominster, with occasional travel to other regional sectors, including:
- Birmingham, Worcester, Leicester, Louth, Skegness, and Matlock for training or meetings.
