Trading Assistant

Working in our Stores

Our stores are fast-paced environments where no two days are ever the same. They are at the heart of the local community, providing outstanding value, quality, and great service. As one of our Trading Assistants, you’ll be the special ingredient that ensures our stores are set up brilliantly to give our customers everything they come to Sainsbury’s for.


Eligibility

You must:

  • Be above the school-leaver age in your country School leaving age - GOV.UK
  • Have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
  • Be at least 18 years old if the shifts for this role cover hours earlier than 6am or later than 11pm

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Stock management: Collecting stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) to replenish items across the store, keeping shelves tidy and well-presented
  • Customer service: Always ready to serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with questions and proactively offering help
  • Product knowledge: Build great knowledge about our products, services, and promotions to provide recommendations
  • Quality control: Date checking fresh produce and grocery products
  • Store support: Helping across the store as needed and supporting with deliveries as required
