Trading Assistant (Working in Our Stores)

Our stores are fast-paced environments where no two days are ever the same. They are at the heart of the local community, providing outstanding value, quality, and great service.

As one of our Trading Assistants, you’ll be the special ingredient that ensures our stores are set up brilliantly to give our customers everything they come to Sainsbury’s for.


Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old (due to working hours and the handling of goods such as alcohol and tobacco).
  • Have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working as part of a small team, your main responsibility will be to ensure all store aspects are prepared to provide a convenient and speedy shopping experience. Your duties may include:

  • Collecting stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) and replenishing shelves across the store.
  • Serving customers at the checkouts, supporting with deliveries, and maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the store.
  • Selecting high-quality products on the shop floor to fulfill On-demand grocery orders, as well as assisting with Click & Collect parcels.
  • Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and offering proactive assistance where required. -Displaying in-depth knowledge of our products, services, and promotions to help customers make informed decisions.
  • Checking the dates of fresh produce and grocery products daily.
