Trading Assistant - Shift
Store Team Assistant (Warehouse & Customer Gaming Rotation)
About the Role
jugar as a Store Team Assistant within Sainsbury’s, supporting our warehouse and store operations while ensuring excellent customer service. This is a versatile role that involves:
- Collecting stock from warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) to efficiently replenish shelves
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and well-organised store environment
- Engaging with customers proactively during store opening hours
- Date checking, stock rotation, and presentation of fresh produce and general grocery products
- Supporting across all areas of the store, including deliveries
- Building strong product knowledge to provide expert recommendations to customers
Responsibilities
Warehouse & Stock Management
- Operate effectively with heavy roll cages (15kg capacity) to collect stock from warehouse and replenish store shelves
- Ensure shelves are always full, clean, tidy, and professionally presented
- Follow first-in-first-out (FIFO) principles for fresh produce and perishables
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer care during store opening hours, assisting with queries and stock recommendations
- Maintain a friendly, customer-focused mindset, offering proactive assistance
- Contribute to a positive in-store experience

- Assist with general store operations and deliveries as required
- Support other store colleagues in maintaining high standards across all areas
