Trading Assistant - Shift

Trading Assistant – Sainsbury’s Stores

Our stores are fast-paced environments where no two days are ever the same. They sit at the heart of the local community, delivering outstanding value, product quality, and exceptional service. As a Trading Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores run smoothly and provide customers with an unforgettable shopping experience every time they visit Sainsbury’s.


Eligibility Requirements

To apply for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (due to working hours and potential need to handle goods such as alcohol).
  • Have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Restocking shelves – Collect and move stock from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15kg) to replenish a variety of products, keeping shelves clean, tidy, and well-presented.
  • Customer service – Offer proactive assistance during opening hours, answering questions, and ensuring customers have a brilliant shopping experience.
  • Product checks – Date-check fresh produce and grocery items to maintain food safety standards.
  • Omni-channel support – Assist with store deliveries and handle tasks across the store as required.
  • Product knowledge – Develop a insights into Sainsbury’s products, promotions, and services to provide tailored advice and recommendations.
