Trading Assistant - Shift

Trading Assistant – Sainsbury’s Stores

About the Role

As a Trading Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our stores run smoothly, stock is replenished efficiently, and customers receive the exceptional experience Sainsbury’s is known for.

Eligibility

To apply for this role, you must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years old (due to working hours and exposure to alcohol/stock handling)
  • Hold Right to Work eligibility in the UK

Key Responsibilities

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Stock management – Collecting and replenishing products from the warehouse using heavy roll cages (up to 15KG) across stores, ensuring shelves are filled with a variety of items while maintaining a clean, tidy, and visually appealing presentation
  • Customer service – Ready to assist customers with queries and enquiries, offering proactive support and product recommendations during store hours
  • Freshness checks – Date-checking produce and grocery products to ensure food safety and organisation
  • Store support – Assisting with deliveries, cross-departmental tasks as needed, and maintaining overall store efficiency
  • Digital literacy – Learning and adapting to new technology and digital tools used in-store
